Superintendent's Message

Superintendent’s Message…2023

On behalf of Noble Local Schools, welcome back for the 23-24 school year.

I am extremely excited to hit the ground running this year and start on time for the first time in a few years.  We are so proud of the renovations that have taken place over the summer, most of which coming in the elementary wing of Shenandoah Elementary School.  Those spaces, among others, were in need of attention and got a much needed upgrade in terms of fresh paint, flooring, and electrical upgrades.  You will be proud of the spaces your students are learning in and calling home for the coming school year.

That said, we also recognize that there are still many spaces that need attention and those will come about this coming summer when Phase 7 kicks off.  It is our hope and plan that the entire SES building will be renovated this coming summer and our attention can turn to bigger new construction projects in future phases 8 and beyond.

Other small projects and improvements you will notice as you head back to school will be new pavement at Green Acres Farm Complex, as well as a forestry project on the farm that is ongoing.  Oftentimes, our summers are in some ways our most busy times due to such a quick turn around from one school year to the next.  I am extremely proud of the team that has been assembled that made all of these projects go, and have allowed us to meet deadlines and get back to school as scheduled.

This year also marks 60 years since Shenandoah High School opened. Being a lifelong Zep, I am most proud to call Shenandoah home and enjoy connecting students with the history of Shenandoah.  It is a personal mission to continue to connect our students to our rich history and tradition all the while planning for a future ready Zep for the next 60 years.  Much of the forward thinking that brought Shenandoah to life 60 years ago still applies today, as we are continuously planning for what the future holds for not only Shenandoah, but your students as they enter an ever changing and evolving world.  In 1963, many had the simple mission to create something that would have a lasting impact on the community and 2023 is absolutely no different in that we hope to continue to create a world class educational experience for our students well into the future.

Enjoy the ‘23-24 school year as we hope to have a “Noble Impact” on your students as well as the region and state.
